Governors Face Historic Test: Climate Deadline Alliance Calls for Immediate Action to Pull Carbon from the Sky

The Interstate SkyCarbon Blueprint provides a practical path for states to cooperate on building and financing Direct Atmospheric Carbon Removal (DACR) facilities, using proven technology already operating abroad. The Blueprint details how twenty U.S. states could collectively remove 900 gigatons of CO2 within two decades, turning captured carbon into fuels, construction materials, and biodegradable plastics while creating thousands of jobs and rebuilding local economies.

  Direct their state climate and economic development agencies to initiate DACR pilot planning in early 2026.
  Commit to working with other states to scale atmospheric carbon removal to the national level.
